Back to Movable Type

Yesterday, whilst thinking about writing something here, I realised that whenever I think about writing, the actual content gets lost in considerations about formatting, how to upload, supporting some mythical later search interface (XPATH!), etc. Whilst I have enjoyed greatly playing with the software that I wrote to store documents in DocBook XML format and then transform them using XSL, XPath, Python and Perl, manage trackbacks with Python and the emacs lisp to implement an easier posting scheme, actually writing content was lost.

So, last night I turfed it all out and installed Movable Type (again). Converting the content from the old log took about 20 minutes (one of the anticipated advantages of the previous mechanism!). It should all be here now with the possible exception of some images. Editing content in a text box in a web page was a bit annoying, so I grabbed a copy of Kung-Log. It works well so far.
