ongoing, not

A couple of people have asked me why Tim Bray's ongoing isn't appearing in Planet Sun. It's what is known in the trade as a minor technical difficulty.

Planet Sun is built using the Planet software, which itself uses Mark Pilgrim's Feed Parser. The version of the feed parser that is included with the planet software (2.76) doesn't handle Tim's feed very well at all. It seems to be a combination of the UTF-8 characters and the encoded HTML entities. Anyway, it barfs, so we don't get any content.

A quick test with the beta 3.0 feed parser suggests that it works much better. Switching the planet software to use that requires some consequent changes, as the interface provided by the feed parser changed (or perhaps planet was using some internals - I'm not sure). Updating planet isn't a difficult job, but it requires some time, which I don't have right now. Perhaps in a week or so.
