tungsten digitiser

There’s a recurring problem with my Palm Tungsten T: the digitiser needs to be reset regularly, sometimes several times a day. It’s a frustrating experience, because in the process of trying to get to the preferences panel to do it I can end up deleting appointments, or something.

Is this a known problem? Any suggested solutions?
