Time to do something new
Today it was confirmed that Sun is ceasing all Operating Platform Group research and development in the UK. OPG is the group that contains Solaris Engineering, where I’ve worked for the past four years.
This means that I’m looking for a new job.
I have some thoughts about the closure of UK R&D, but now probably isn’t the best time to put them down on paper :-( I’ve enjoyed almost all of my time at Sun - it’s probably the best place that I’ve worked. Best of luck to the people still there.
In terms of what to do next, that will take a bit of thought. Maybe it’s time to be pointy haired again, or perhaps an even more radical change.
