Read, Listen, Read, Listen, ...

On finishing Eastern Standard Tribe I’m left with the conclusion that I didn’t much like a lot of it, but the ending was good.

In the ebook vein, it would be good if I could listen to parts of my current ebook in the car, then continue reading on the PDA, listen again, etc. All with a smooth flow between the two, so that the listening starts where the reading ended and vice-versa. Is speech synthesis up to the job yet?
