LOSUG the second

Posted on Dec 20, 2005

Last night saw the second London OpenSolaris User Group meeting, attended by about fifty people. Both of the longer talks (DTrace internals and a ZFS overview) were interesting and entertaining, though I have to admit that anyone from Sun who hasn’t sat through a couple of ZFS presentations by now must have been hiding in a cave…

Darren Moffat did a quick presentation on filesystem crypto that was informative - read the slides if you care about such things.

I took a bunch of pictures, but they are universally awful. In part this is because I left my camera set to ISO100 in a dark room, but a better flash (to reach the front of the room) or faster lens (to avoid the flash) would have perhaps made more difference. Oh well, a learning experience.
