The Family Trade and The Hidden Family by Charles
Stross. Consumed both of these in under a week, which tells you
that I enjoyed them a lot. As with his other books set in the
present time, Charlie demonstrates a good grasp of technology and
business combined with a flair for spinning a story. Recommended
(I’m off looking for the next in the series.)
The Witches of Chiswick by Robert Rankin. Started out very
promising, continued well, fell apart towards the end. Given
recent experience it seems that I’m not a good target for
“humorous” science fiction or fantasy.
