  • The Family Trade and The Hidden Family by Charles Stross. Consumed both of these in under a week, which tells you that I enjoyed them a lot. As with his other books set in the present time, Charlie demonstrates a good grasp of technology and business combined with a flair for spinning a story. Recommended (I’m off looking for the next in the series.)
  • The Witches of Chiswick by Robert Rankin. Started out very promising, continued well, fell apart towards the end. Given recent experience it seems that I’m not a good target for “humorous” science fiction or fantasy.
